Food Waste Reduction

Market Food & Material Waste to Animal Food & Shelter

Since 2017, we've prevented ~42.22 Tons of food and materials from reaching landfills. See our Home page for the details of our "Market Waste to Animal Care" process. Our process is simple, easy to replicate, and effective at the small scale.

We've saved ~42.22 Tons of food & materials from landfills.

RESQ #1 Averages

  • weekly: 32.5 lbs

  • yearly: 1690 lbs

  • last 3 years : 5070 lbs (2.535 tons)

52 weeks * 3 years (2017-2020) = 156 weeks
156 weeks * 15 lbs = 2340 lbs / 3 yrs <== total low side156 weeks * 50 lbs = 7800 lbs / 3 years <== total high side(7800+2340)/2 = 5070 / 156 = 32.5 lbs (on average / week)
52 weeks * 15 lbs = 780 lbs/yr <== yearly low side52 weeks * 50 lbs = 2600 lbs/yr <== yearly high side(2600 + 780) / 2 = 1690 / 52 = 32.5 lbs (on average / week)

RESQ #2 Averages

  • monthly: 2204.62 lbs

  • yearly: 13.22772 tons

  • last 3 years : 39.68316 tons

RESQ #2: bimonthly Landfill trips
~500 kilos/carload * 2 trips /month = 1000 kilos/mo = 1.10231 Tons/mo1.10231 * 12 mo = 13.22772 Tons / year

CO2 Emissions Reduction & Sequestration

Almond Tree Waste to Low-Income Heating

Since 2018, we've prevented ~1.6875 Tons (3375 lbs) of green almond wood from burning in farmers' fields. Details of our process are coming soon. Be certain that our process is simple, easy to replicate, and effective at the small scale.

We've stopped 1.6875 Tons (3375 lbs) of CO2 emissions.

RESQ #1 Averages

  • daily: 7.5 lbs

  • yearly: 1125 lbs

  • last 2 years : 2250 lbs

150 days * 2 years (2018-2020) = 300 days
300 days * ((15 lbs/day)/2 carbon weight) = 300 * 7.5 = 2250 lbs carbon / 2 burn seasons150 days * 7.5 lbs carbon = 1125 lbs carbon / burn season

RESQ #2 Averages

  • daily: 15 lbs

  • yearly: 2250 lbs

  • next 2 years : 4500 lbs

150 days * 1 year (2019-2020) = 150 days
150 days * 15 lbs carbon = 2250 lbs carbon / burn season

Methane Emissions Reduction

Pig Farm Waste to Alternative Energy

We're working with a local pig farmers to cut their methane emissions, lower their propane costs, and produce fertilizers that can be sold to local farmers.

Reforestation & Pandemic Shield

Agroforests, Private Forests, and Recreating the Natural Pandemic Shield

Science has shown that one of the most effective defenses against future pandemics are forests and wildlife habitats. Unfortunately, between logging and wildfires, we're losing our Pandemic Shield. Through strategic replanting of native species, we can help nature help us.
